Bridge Street was pedestrianised in 1989 and plaques can be seen in the pavement showing the coat of arms of the aristocracy who lived close to Worksop.

They include crests belonging to the Dukes of Newcastle, Norfolk, Portland and Leeds and the Earl of Scarborough. Mazes depicting the lion and the unicorn are set in brickwork in the pavement and the street furniture depicts heraldic beasts taken from the ducal crests.
